Hank Williams Jr. won’t be kicking off Monday Night Football this season as ESPN has selected a new theme song.

According to the Sports Business Journal, the change isn’t due to Hank Williams Jr.’s controversial statements or themes within his music instead it’s being reported that the change is due to the lack of people who will be in the stands for the 2020-2021 football season and that Williams’ line, “All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night” doesn’t fit stadiums that will be limited or will have no fans.

ESPN plans to air a rendition of Little Richard’s “Rip It Up,” which is backed by Virginia’s Butcher Brown Band. It hasn’t gone unnoticed that Little Richard is the Godfather of Rock ‘N Roll and played a significant role in black music.

In 2011 Williams was dropped from ESPN due to comments where he compared then-President Obama to Adolf Hitler, the decision was reversed when President Trump took office.
