Tuesday (9/1) Luke Combs received six nominations for the 54th Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. The country music singer-songwriter says he is blown away by the recognition.

Luke’s name is included in the categories for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year for “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” Album of the Year for What You See Is What You Get and twice for Song of the Year for “Even Though I’m Leaving” and “I Hope You’re Happy Now.”

“Getting six CMA nominations is pretty insane,” Luke says, “Two in the same category is just unbelievable, especially in a category that means so much to me, Song of the Year.”

He also has a chance at the night’s biggest honor with some of country music’s biggest names.

“Being in the conversation for Entertainer of the Year for the first time is such a huge deal, and having a seat at the table with Carrie [Underwood] and Miranda [Lambert] and Keith [Urban] and Eric [Church], people who I view as so far above me in this industry. And, I’m just really thankful and very humbled.”

Many people feel that Album of the Year runs a very close second to Entertainer of the Year for the night’s honors. Being included in that category is very special to Luke.

“Being nominated for Album of the Year is really crazy. I remember watching Eric Church win for Chief a number of years ago, and how much I love that album and how much it meant to me as an aspiring artist-songwriter at that time and just thinking, ‘Man, maybe one day I can make something that would even be considered for that.’ So it’s a really special moment for me as an artist, and I’m just real proud of What You See Is What You Get and everybody that was involved, and looking forward to seeing what happens.”

We will find out which of these awards Luke actually wins during the 54th CMA Awards Show scheduled for November 11th in Nashville.
