Before Riley Green was able to make a living playing country music, he was working with his hands framing houses. It’s a job he says he enjoyed and would probably still be doing if music hadn’t worked out.

“I always enjoyed carpentry,” says Riley. “I enjoyed building houses and the thought of going to work, and then seeing at the end of the day what you did that day. I always enjoyed that. And I worked with my buddies, I worked with my dad and my grandpa, so it didn’t really feel like work. I mean, I guess if music never came into play and I was still doing that today I would still enjoy it.”

Riley admits, “It’s a lot more fun when you don’t have to do it,” but he says, “I enjoy that kinda work.” Luckily for Riley the music thing seems to be more than working out, so it’s not likely he will have to go back to framing houses any time soon.

Riley’s latest single, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” is climbing the charts approaching the top 30 this week. He’s touring all over the country on his own “Get That Man A Beer Tour” in between opening dates on Jon Pardi’s “Heartache Medication Tour.”

Listen for Riley’s debut #1 single “There Was This Girl” and his current single “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
