A new cancervaccine is showing signs of success in early clinical trials on human patients.

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic say the vaccine removed cancer cells in a Florida woman who was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

The vaccine works by stimulating the patient’s immune system to attack the cancer cells. One researcher, Dr. Saranya Chumsri, says ideally the vaccine will work “off the shelf, kind of similar to when you get the flu shot or a pneumonia shot” according to a FoxNews.com report.
