The annual Putt Putt for Charity event is back again on Sunday, October 13th. All proceeds of this event benefit the Western Avenue Community Center.
Every year, local bars and restaurants put together teams of four who travel around town to 18 participating locations. Each location creates their own putting green for the teams to putt on for points. At the end of the event, there is an award party where the top three teams are awarded prizes!
But remember, this is all for charity! The goal on the day is to raise money for the Western Avenue Community Center. In 2018, the event was able to raise over $15,000 for the charity and organizers have hopes to raise even more this year.
To join a Putt Putt for Charity team, visit any of the participating locations including Digger’s Again, The Windjammer, The Spotted Dog, or Cadillac Jack’s.
The Western Avenue Community Center offers programs to support members of our community. Through after school programs, the WACC is able to provide a warm, positive, family atmosphere for children until their parents are off work. They also offer programs for senior citizens to provide them a place to occasionally gather to keep active, learn new skills, play games and make new friends.
