Being in a relationship with a country star isn’t always easy, but Jon Pardi says his new fiancée, Summer Duncan, is perfectly suited for it,

“Summer is so good at being that girl in the spotlight, in a meeting, in a room, you know. Summer comes in [and] it’s not, ‘Hey, Jon,’ it’s always, ‘Where’s Summer at?’ So that kind of changed for me, you know. And she deals good with fans, you know, that’s what I’m talking about the girl fans. And it’s been fun, a good balance.”

Jon proposed to Summer Wednesday night (10/3) during his show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

Jon and Summer actually met thanks to a blind date set up by his mom. He says she was happy to play cupid,

“It was basically a blind date set up, but we knew what we looked like. I mean, I seen a picture [and] of course I was like, ‘Yeah, when’s Summer gonna hang out?’ You know, but I didn’t know her. I didn’t know her family. It wasn’t … it could’ve went sideways too, you know, but it didn’t and it’s been great, she’s been perfect. So, yeah, my mom’s super proud, you know, and she’s so happy.”

Summer appears in Jon’s music video for his new single and title track of his latest album “Heartache Medication.” Both the single and album are available everywhere now.
