Central Illinois DIRECTV Customers Still Without CBS

Central Illinois DIRECTV Customers Still Without CBS

Today it was announced that DIRECTV and CBS have reached an agreement for the network to return to the satellite TV provider. Unfortunately for customers in central Illinois (like me) that deal does not apply to us.

The deal reached is between DIRECTV and CBS Corporation owned TV stations. Here in central Illinois, WCIA (Champaign), WMBD (Peoria) and WCIX (Springfield) are all owned by Nexstar Media Group.

Nexstar is still in negotiations with DIRECTV to return to the platform. That means while other markets across the country have the CBS TV programming available on the satellite service today, we do not have it back yet in central Illinois. That would also apply to other markets around the country where the CBS affiliate is owned by Nexstar.

Let’s hope they get a deal made soon.
