Jim Radford is a World War II–veteran and recorded a song about the D-Day invasion titled “Shores Of Normandy.” That song is selling well on the 75th anniversary of the beach invasion operation.
The song is doing so well that it is actually outselling music superstars including Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran according to Fox News.
At the age of 15 Jim was a galley boy with the British Merchant Marines when the Allies stormed Normandy June 6, 1944. He wrote the song “Shores Of Normandy” in 1969 following the 25th anniversary of the Allied operation.
The Normandy Memorial Trust has re-released the song for the 75th anniversary. Proceeds from the sale of the song will go to building a new memorial, according to ABC News.
