Singer-songwriter Darius Rucker has reached #1, but NOT “For The First Time.”

Wait, that’s confusing. Darius IS number one with his latest solo single “For The First Time,” but NOT for the first time in his career. There that’s a little more clear, maybe.

The advanced Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts have been released for country radio airplay and Darius sits at the top of both charts for this week.

The single is the second from his current album (which is his 5th solo project) When Was The Last Time and now becomes the second chart topper from that album, which is available everywhere now. The debut #1 single from the album was his song “If I Told You.”

Darius recently explained how he not only loves the lyrics of his now #1 song, but the song as a whole.

“The lyrics are great and I love the story and everything, but I just thought the music was so country,” he shares, “and at the beginning that beat that laid behind it, I just man, that’s the kind of music I want to make. I love that song.”

Congratulations to Darius Rucker on his #1 song “For The First Time.”
