Luke Combs has announced his new single will be a song called “One Number Away” and you can listen to him sing an acoustic version of the song above.
Luke has had a breakout year in 2017. He has released two singles from his debut #1, RIAA GOLD-certified studio album This One’s For You. Both songs (“Hurricane” and “When It Rains It Pours“) reached the #1 spot on the country radio airplay singles charts.
The next single from the album will be sent to radio after the first of the year. Luke explains the thought process that was behind writing the song, “‘One Number Away,’ me and some buddies were sitting around and it was kind of that visual where there’s somebody you just always want to talk to at a certain point and maybe you’ve had too many drinks or something’s going wrong with somebody else. You’re sitting there and you’ve typed their number in and you’ve got your thumb on the send button, but you just can’t quite hit it, but you always want to.”
If you listen to the acoustic performance of the song that Luke co-wrote at the top of the page, it sounds to me like he might have a great start to 2018 with the release of what could potentially be his third number one song out of three released.
