The Country community got some very sad news yesterday, one of the greatest voices of all time, Glen Campbell, passed away following his 6 year battle with Alzheimer’s.

During his long career, Glen released more than 70 albums and sold over 45 million records. Of course, some of his most iconic hits include “Rhinestone Cowboy,” “Galveston” and “Wichita Lineman.” In 2005, Glen was given the ultimate honor of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2014, his struggle with Alzheimer’s was documented in the film “I’ll Be Me.” Yesterday he passed away at the age of 81.

While almost every country artist has shared their respects and fond memories, the words of his daughter are the ones that touch us the most. In 2014, his youngest daughter Ashley wrote a song for her daddy called “Remembering.”

For anyone who has lost a loved one, especially to Alzheimer’s, this song will touch you in ways you never thought imaginable. It’s incredibly heartbreaking, yet music has a strange way of healing at the same time.

Our thoughts and prayers with Glen Campbell’s family at this difficult time.
