Maren Morris Checks Off Box by Playing Villain in “Craving You” Music Video

Maren Morris got to collaborate with Thomas Rhett on his latest single “Craving You” and she got to check off a box on her bucket list by playing a villain in the music video.

The music video for “Craving You” is quite the epic, done in the style of a Hollywood action movie. Thomas Rhett asked Maren to be a part of it since she is part of the song.

The part she played had a small physical demand on the country music singer-songwriter. “When TK [McKamy], the director, told me the synopsis of what was going on in the video, I was just so excited because I was like, ‘Okay, I get to hold a shotgun the whole time.’ And it was like a real … not a real shotgun, but it had the weight of one, and so my arm was so sore,” Maren admits.

However, the sore arm was apparently worth getting to mark off a box on her bucket list. “I don’t want to like give the whole thing away,” Maren shares, “It’s not like a huge surprise, but I sort of end up being the villain, and I have always wanted to do that.”

Maren also reveals that she had fun with Thomas Rhett on the set throughout the filming. “This is my first time actually acting, which was really fun,” she explains, adding, “Thomas and I were both laughing at each other all day and like ruining every take because we were just so excited to get to act for the first time.”

She also commends Thomas Rhett on his acting skills, “He’s so good! I was so impressed at how natural he was at through the whole thing.”

Thomas Rhett returns the compliment about Maren’s abilities while admitting he also got to check a box on his own bucket list, “There are a lot of crazy action scenes … a lot of firsts for me in general in this video. I’ve always wanted to get to do a fight sequence and play a tough guy, but I think Maren definitely shows me up! TK really pushed us both since we’d never really acted before.”
