RaeLynn may have taken five years to release her debut album titled Wildhorse, but it has been worth the wait as it has also debuted at #1!

It was season two of The Voice when RaeLynn made it onto Blake Shelton‘s team. While she didn’t make it to the finals or win the contest, the 17-year-old did capture the hearts of a huge number of country music fans in 2012.

Now at the age of 22 the young singer-songwriter has really achieved her dream as she has her debut album available everywhere. Achieving that dream has been made even more sweet as Wildhorse has debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Album sales chart.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me,” she explains. “Having a single that’s in the Top 30 and a #1 debut record is a dream come true. I feel overwhelmingly grateful and honored to be included in the company of the handful of other women who have debuted at #1 with their first record.”

RaeLynn joins an elite few female country artists whose debut album bowed at #1, and is the highest charting/bestselling female country album release since Maren Morris.

The young artist credits that success to many people other than herself. “The fans who I’ve met over the past five years really showed up for this record,” RaeLynn admits, “So, I share this #1 with all of them and my team and country radio. It’s for all of us. Real music that connects is always gonna win!”

The album also peaked at #1 on the iTunes Country Albums chart as well as #3 on the iTunes All-Genre chart when the album was released.

Congratulations to RaeLynn on the #1 debut of her first album Wildhorse!
