Jason Aldean has made the “Lights Come On” his latest #1 single this week.

According to the advanced Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts, Jason has reached the number one spot for this week. “Lights Come On” is the lead single from a forthcoming new album from Jason. He has not revealed the album title or release date as of yet for this new album.

Jason says that this song came to him during a lunch break working on that new album. “We were cutting 4 songs on the last day. While we were on a lunch break — we had cut two songs, we had a lunch break, and we were gonna go in and cut two more,’ he explains, “and on the lunch break I got an email from, I think it was BK from Florida Georgia Line, saying they had written a song and were pitching it to me to see if I wanted to cut it for my album.”

Jason says that he opened up the song file, listened to it and, “immediately went in, got my producer, pulled him out, and said ‘Hey, we need to see if we can get everybody to stick around for another hour after the session so we can cut this.'”

It’s a good thing he did because “Lights Come On” is now Jason’s 17th career number one song. You can watch the music video for the song here.

Congratulations to Jason Aldean on his number one single “Lights Come On.”
