The USA Olympic Team has adopted The Band Perry‘s 2015 single “Live Forever” as their official song for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The three Perry siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil were on the Today Show yesterday (4/27) where they made the announcement. The award winning trio also informed show host Matt Lauer that they will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to attend the 2016 Summer Olympics, their first time ever to see the Olympics in person.
What do they think about the honor of having one of their songs being chosen to motivate the Team USA? Kimberly said, “Live Forever’ is really about those moments that make you feel like you’re going to live forever, and that really is the spirit of the Olympics and we’re just really honored to bring that song to these guys.”
The Band Perry also released a special Olympic version music video of the song. You can watch both the Today Show interview and performance and the Olympic version music video of “Live Forever” by The Band Perry below.
The 2016 Summer Olympics will take place from August 5th to August 21st.
Congratulations to The Band Perry on an awesome honor!
