Meet Maren Morris who is exploding onto the country music scene with her debut single “My Church.”
Of course you have to take the term “exploding” with a grain of salt. Maren has been in Nashville pursuing her career for several years now. It has been said that it takes many years to create an “overnight success” and I would put Maren in that category.
Maren is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter who grew up in Dallas, Texas. She left her mom, dad and sister to move to Nashville and pursue her dream of being a country music artist where she released her first album Walk On through an independent label Mozzi Blozzi in 2005.
She released two more albums through that label titled Maren (2007) and Live Wire (2011) before being signed to a major recording deal with Columbia Nashville and releasing her debut EP Maren Morris last year.
The debut single from that EP “My Church” has already reached #26 on the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart in just four weeks.
Maren has been garnering a lot of buzz through the Nashville music industry. She has even landed the opening slot on the Keith Urban 2016 “RipCORD Tour” along with Brett Eldredge. That tour will stop right here in Bloomington, Illinois November 12th at US Cellular Coliseum.
