The real estate blog Estately.com analyzed Google searches for the past 11 years to figure out what Halloween costume each state looks up more than anyone else.
The website found that people in California search for “pregnant nun” costume more than anywhere else among others.
Just north of us in Wisconsin search for “Beer” costume more than other states, which is not surprising. What I did find interesting is that “Cheese” was not on their list of costume searches.
On the list for New York is Donald Trump and Justin Bieber which I find interesting.
So what costumes are searched for here in the Land of Lincoln more than anyplace else? Surprisingly it is California that Google searches Honest Abe costumes more than any other state, not Illinois. Illinois searches for the following costumes more than any other state (and it is quite a list): Barrack Obama, beer girl, bull, Care Bear, Cruella De Vil, flight attendant, foot, Girl Scout, Grim Reaper, golfer, hedgehog, hot dog, milk, Oompa Loompa, Optimus Prime, Mr. Potato Head, parrot, raccoon, taco, ugly holiday sweater and slutty pumpkin.
Whoever thought of a pumpkin as “slutty”? I had to Google the idea myself to see if there even were such costumes. Obviously when there is demand people will create supply as you can see by the photo at the top of the page that I came from my Google search.
I want to point out that these are the most Googled costumes in each state, NOT the most popular.
See all of the results for all of the states here.
Whatever you dress up as this year, have a Happy Halloween everybody!
