Jason Aldean was in many views snubbed by the CMA Awards in 2014. For the 49th CMA Awards he was not completely snubbed as he received a single nomination for an award.

Following what was one of, if not the biggest year Jason had in his career, he was not nominated in even one category for the 48th CMA Awards Show. This year Jason did receive a single nomination for an award.

When the final CMA nominees were revealed yesterday (9/9) Jason’s latest album Old Boots, New Dirt was included in the list of nominees for Album of the Year.

The award is one Jason has won before for his My Kind Of Party album in 2011. Jason revealed what it meant to win that award; “For that to win Album of the Year on top of the success it had already I mean, that was just…That was a pretty special night for me and Michael Knox my producer brought me to town, worked with me when…cutting demos on me when people wouldn’t give us the time of day it was just a… for me and him especially I think it was sort of a cool way to go ‘You know here we are after all these years, people finally taking notice of what we’re doing you know’ and it was a really cool moment.”

While he did receive the album nod from the CMAs, Jason was not in the list of nominees for any other award. When you factor in the success of his massive “Burn It Down Tour” playing stadiums and auditoriums across the country and co-headlining with Kenny Chesney on the “Big Revival Tour” at stadium concerts, not getting a nomination for Entertainer or Male Vocalist of the Year is still kind of a snub.
