This story is AMAZING! An Illinois family just welcomed their 100th grandchild in April.
I’m sure it’s a big deal when your family gets together, but can you imagine being a part of the Zanger family? The chaos and craziness that comes with 100 grandchildren would make anyone pull their hair out, but instead the Zanger family focuses on the extra love that an extra-large family brings.
Ruth and Leo Zanger, of Quincy, Il, have 53 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild for a grand total of 100.
Leo Zanger tells The Quincy Herald-Whig that “the good Lord has just kept sending them” and his wife Ruth claims “there’s always room for one more.”
After 59 years of marriage, the parents of 12, and grandparents of 100, have made it a tradition to get together for all holidays, and they really don’t need an excuse to have “reunions” in the Quincy area often. Of course, with a family that large they have to rent out a church hall just to hold everyone. Can you imagine what it takes to feed them? Leo says they have to get 50 pounds of ham or ten turkeys just to feed the family. I imagine everyone is required to bring a dish to pass as well, since they could basically start their own town with the size of their family.

It’s definitely a great reminder how precious family is, so hold your family close, see them as often as you can, and don’t forget to call your mother!
