Congratulations Coach Fischer on winning one thousand games as head coach of the Illinois State Redbirds. In the day and age of coaches coming and going, Coach Fischer stayed at Illinois State and built a long impressive career.
That dedication paid off as the victory over Northern Iowa last night was win number 1 –Thousand. Melinda Fischer is the winningest coach in Illinois State athletics and 11th on the list of Division 1 Softball coaches. That’s just scratching the surface of her achievements.
