How would you like to walk on Mars while still on earth? With Microsoft’s HoloLens that possibility could happen sooner rather than later.
I remember watching Star Trek and seeing things that made me think: “wouldn’t THAT be cool!” Things like their communicators looked very similar to the flip phones when they came out. The handheld computers on the show are reflected in today’s tablets. And, one of my favorites was the “HoloDeck.”
The HoloDeck was a room that the characters went into and could create any world they wanted to spend some time in. Now that concept could happen in the not too distant future right in your won home.
The video below for Microsoft’s new HoloLens shows that the technology can be adapted to use at work and at home in just about every aspect of our lives. It is obviously an idea that more than just I am excited about since the video has gone viral with nearly seven million views in the two days since it has been posted.
There is not any information about when the product will be released or what the cost will be. However, you can bet that I will be watching for the Microsoft HoloLens details to be released to see if I can put it on my wish list in the future!
Now, if they could just get the transporter technology developed it would make a trip to Hawaii so much easier!
