Sheryl Crow was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last week (1/24) where she confirmed her first new album in two years will be country.
There has not been a release date or title for the project yet, but Sheryl did confirm that she is releasing a country album on Warner Music Nashville. She even performed what will be the lead single from the album, called "Easy," on the late night TV show.
As far as why she's doing a country album, CMT.com reports that Sheryl said: "I believe a lot of my songs would probably be played on country radio today if they were just being released. The country music community has been incredibly welcoming."
It was just revealed last week that Sheryl will be the mentor for Team Blake with country superstar coach Blake Shelton on season four of "The Voice."
