Once upon a time there was a young boy named Andy Steadman, who grew up in Bloomington-Normal. He finished high school and attended college at Illinois State University. This is where we met.
I met Andy in one of the 8,000 music classes we had to take at 8am in Centennial East, CVA, or Cook Hall on ISU’s Campus. We spent numerous afternoons upstairs in Cook Hall with Dr. Major singing in Concert Choir, early mornings with Stokes in our sight singing class, and one amazing trip to France and Spain!
After college, as most people know, we part ways and move on with our lives. I stayed in Bloomington and got into radio, and Andy had big dreams for Hollywood, so off he went. We stayed in contact through facebook, and stalked each other’s profiles from afar.
Fast forward 10 plus years (can’t believe I am admitting that), and Andy sends me a message on facebook…
“Hey Faith, how are you? I'm writing because I'm going to be in Bloomington-Normal on Friday and Saturday of next week, doing some work for a movie I'm directing in town this summer. The movie is music-themed (rock music, anyway), and we have some cool things going on for it already. Wanna talk?”
SO COOL! Well, today he stopped by the studio and we talked about his movie called "We Had This Band" which starts filming next week...
Help support my friend and Bloomington-Normal native Andy Steadman and his partner and star Andy Wagner live their dream!
ALSO, July 6th & 7th there will be 2 Benefit concert's for Hammitt School. Here is the flier for the 6th, but on the 7th is the "Tornado Belly Rock Festival" with Andy's band "Burn Daylight". Proceeds from that show will also benefit Hammitt school and The Pratt music foundation AND as you heard the guys say in the interview, they will be filming scenes for the movie at the show on the 7th, so CHECK IT OUT!
