Kenny Chesney announced five years ago he would be launching his own line of rum. It appears that Kenny's Blue Chair Bay Premium Rum will be available soon.

While Kenny originally planned on having his own line of rum out by 2010, the delayed release did not end the idea. Kenny has not stated an exact date that his Blue Chair Permium Rum will be available to the public. However, he has started the promotion of the product.

Kenny posted a video that tells the story of where the idea of his own line of rum came from. He says it was born from the idea of bottling up the fun he has on tour, the passion he feels from the fans and the charm of the people he has gotten to know in the islands. Kenny has also set up a website for the rum at www.bluechairbayrum.com. Although the video is the only content on the website right now, you can submit contact information to be alerted when the rum is made available.

Kenny is following  in the steps of other music stars that introduced their own line of alcoholic beverages. Sammy Hagar has his Cabo Wabo line of tequila. Toby Keith launced his own line of mezcal called Wild Shot.

I wonder how much Kenny will talk about Blue Chair Bay Rum when he brings his "No Shoes Nation Tour" to the Peoria Civic Center Friday, April 26th.
