Jake Owen kicks off his ‘CMT On Tour: Jake Owen – The Summer Never Ends’ tour tonight (10/10) and you can be sure he has his road dog along for the ride.
Jake kicks off his headlining tour tonight in New York City. Love and Theft along with Florida Georgia Line will be out on the tour with Jake as opening acts. The first night of the tour is sold out at the Best Buy Theater in NYC as are dates in Detroit, St. Louis, and a two-night run at the House of Blues in Chicago. Jake even posted a picture (above) on his Twitter account of himself with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line having dinner in NYC preparing for the first night of the tour.The tour runs through December and the complete list of tour dates can be found here.
When it comes to what fans can expect from the tour, CMT.com quotes Jake as saying: “you can always expect -- no matter if it's a headlining show or any show we play -- that we're going to do our best to entertain them and play a bunch of great songs and to keep people interested. And we want to keep them coming back. That's the biggest compliment -- when people see you once and then they come again.”
CountryWeekly.com reports that Jake has a road companion with him every time he is out on the road. That companion is his road dog named Merle. “I've always gotta have my dog with me,” Jake said. “He keeps everybody sane. People pet on him and love on him and he just enjoys it. If you're having a bad day, he can cheer you up.”
