NORMAL - Epsilon Sigma Alpha and other Greek organizations on the Illinois State campus raised $104,135 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
St. Jude Director for ESA, Emilie Gill said the largest donations came during the Up 'Till Dawn event, where students write letters to family and friends asking for donations.
"We had an event held in the Brown Ballroom here at ISU with over 450 students in attendance that all wrote at least 25 letters," Gill said. "We also had donation tables around campus, we have an ESA loves St. Jude month in February where we do different kind of fundraisers."
Gill said the ISU ESA chapter is the number three collegiate fundraiser in the nation for St. Jude.
ESA revealed this year's fundraising amount for St. Jude Sunday night during the Black and White Affair in the Brown Ballroom. Half of the proceeds raised at that event went to St. Jude, the other half benefits No Limits, Boys and Girls Club of America, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and Food for Africa.
About 220 people were in attendance.
