Family Fun Tomorrow With Worldwide Day Of Play

The Children's Discovery Museum invites you to the 6th Annual Worldwide Day Of Play in Bloomington-Normal tomorrow (9/29).

The World Wide Day Of Play is your chance to get the family together for a day of family fun. The Children's Discovery Museum is offering half priced admission Saturday plus there are lots of free activities for the whole family at other locations.

Saturday make plans to have some family fun at Anderson Park in Normal, the ISU Horticultural Center in Normal, the YWCA McLean County in Bloomington or the Uptown Block Party in Uptown Normal. Heck, make plans on playing at all the locations with your family. It will be a day of fun and memories for you and your family.

It's a whole day devoted to good old fashioned play! So get out and PLAY!


9 a.m. to Noon
Anderson Park, College Avenue, Normal

Normal and Bloomington Parks and Recreation along with ISU Athletics, are teaming up to provide everything from basketball and football to soccer shoots and an obstacle course. Add to that a bounce house, Bloomington Fencing Academy, Developing Melodies, Upper Limits and, of course, snacks!


9 a.m. to Noon
YWCA McLean County, Hershey Rd. Bloomington

Enjoy high energy activities including Scholastic Sports Games, a book walk, bounce house, activities led by ISU PE Teacher Educators, plus demonstrations by the McLean County Misfits and a local kennel club.


9 a.m. to Noon
Autumnal Festival at ISU Horticultural Center, Raab Rd. Normal

Don't miss the 7th annual festival featuring games and crafts under the tent, a scavenger hunt, corn palace, corn maze, and hay rides.

Fees: $2 for ages 13+ $1 for ages 3-12, Free for ages 3 and under. Hay Rides are $1.00

 

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Uptown Block Party, E. Beaufort St. Normal

The Uptown Block Party is bigger and better than ever, featuring nearly 30 street vendors, stage activities, storytime, musical entertainment and more. Add to that, the Children's Discovery Museum is offering half-price admission ($3 per person, today only!) Find the day's complete schedule here!

Consider riding your bicycles to the Uptown Block Party and have your children participate in a Bike Rodeo. Participation requires a bicycle, helmet, closed-toe shoes and a signed waiver. Children's Hospital of Illinois will also provide free bike helmets, while supplies last.
