A few short weeks ago, Eric Church informed the country music world that he plans to lay low in 2013. That would mean a lot less touring and possibly an extended waiting period for his next album. But it seems a marquee tour may not be out of the question in 2013.
Rumors are swirling about the “Springsteen” singer possibly teaming up with Kenny Chesney for a tour next year. Though Eric won’t officially confirm nor deny the rumors:
"It's still rumor stage, but I can at least say most of next year off is true," Eric told Florida station WKIS. "We're doing some shows in Canada first part of the year but as far as the U.S. goes, I think it's looking like we maybe do 20 shows across the country.”
So Kenny may possibly trade out his Brothers of the Sun tour partner Tim McGraw for Eric Church? Not a bad replacement. Though Eric doesn’t quite hold the star power Tim does at the moment, he is certainly on his way there. When the CMA Awards nominees were announced earlier this month, Eric led all country artists with 5 nominations.
Could a big night at the CMA’s take Eric to that next tier of country stardom? We’ll find out November 1st when the CMA’s take place, but a tour with country powerhouse Kenny Chesney definitely couldn’t hurt his fame jump either.
