This morning (12/31) the Chicago Bears fired head coach Lovie Smith.
NFL.com reprts that Lovie met with Bears upper management this morning and was given the news of his release from the organization.
Lovie spent the past nine years as head coach of the Bears. in that time, he led the football team to the playoffs three times including one Super Bowl appearance.
So who will replace Lovie in 2013 as head coach of the bears? There is one possiblity emerging already. Apparently the Bears have already asked permission to interview Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.
