Carrie Underwood NOT Impressive in Concert, Really?
9:56AM Monday
October 1, 2012

We have had the chance to see Carrie Underwood perform around here several times and negative is not a word associated with her shows. According to a concert critic out of Minneapolis, Carrie Underwood isn’t able to connect with her audience and appears plastic.

Here is a portion of the negative review that Jon Bream of the Minneapolis Star Tribune said about where Carrie Underwood stands versus her female competitors  in country music;

Yes, I know she's scored 12 No. 1 country songs, an impressive total for someone who just released her fourth album. Yes, her voice can soar to the stratosphere and scare the crap out of any man who has done her wrong. But listening to her perform for 110 minutes Thursday night at Target Center convinced me that Underwood, at 29, is still just a strong voice who hasn't learned how to infuse her songs with either conviction or personality.

This is a surprise because Carrie co- hosts the CMA awards with Brad Paisley and does a fantastic job. Rarely do we ever hear that she doesn’t have a personality. Here is the article from the Minneapolis Star Tribune after her Show last Thursday at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Mr. Bream should be careful about what he says, because there are many markets that haven’t had a chance to see her perform.

I hope she will go back to Minneapolis after she reads this review. Carrie, you are always welcome in Bloomington - Normal. This proves that country stars really need to have thick skin.
