Blake is one of the two original coaches from the hit NBC TV singing competition that will return for the new season. Adam Levine is the other returning original coach. Adam was the winning coach for the premier season of “The Voice” when his 2011 team member Javier Colon took the title. However, for season two and three it was all Blake.
Team Blake’s Jermaine Paul won it all last spring. Then, “The Voice” producers decided to start doing two seasons a year starting in the fall of 2012. Cassadee Pope got all four coaches to turn around for her blind audition. She ultimately chose Blake Shelton as her coach on the show. It turned out to be the winning decision as Cassadee survived all the rounds including beating out her Team Blake team mate Terry McDermott for the win on season three of “The Voice.” That made back-to-back wins as a coach for Blake Shelton.
Season four of “The Voice” is set to begin this Monday, March 25th. Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green are taking this season of the hit TV show off to concentrate on their music careers. Joining Blake and Adam for the new season are Shakira and Usher.
“The Voice” will begin with the blind auditions on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7 pm central time on NBC. Depending on any changes and twists to the show (as they added for season three), next will be the battle rounds followed by the knock out rounds. The final 12 acts will be revealed May 8th. The show will then begin the live episodes where the TV audience determines who stays and who goes until the season four “The Voice” finale airs on June 18th.
The question is, will Blake be able to three-peat with another win? Perhaps Adam will tie Blake in the win column by getting his second win as a coach? There is also the chance that either Shakira or Usher could capture the win as a rookie coach. I for one will be watching from beginning to end to see how it all plays out.
By the way, I happen to be Team Blake. However, I will reserve my opinion on a three-peat for Blake until I see how all four teams fill-out through the blind auditions.
