As the temperatures begin to drop, The Salvation Army of McLean County has started their annual coat drive. Last year, nearly 900 coats were given out. The Salvation Army will be collecting coats and winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves etc.) for all ages, beginning in October and continuing through mid-January.  We currently have a need for large coats (2XL and Larger) for adults and children’s coats. Coat collection locations include:

·     The Salvation Army, 611 West Washington Street, Bloomington, IL

·     All Bloomington/Normal Gold’s Gym & Gold’s Gym Express Locations

·     All Commerce Bank Branch Locations in Bloomington/Normal

Distribution began on Tuesday, October 30th and will run through January 16th(we will stop distribution briefly from Dec. 13th – Jan 7Th)  Anyone in need of a coat can come to The Salvation Army Community Center located at 611 West Washington Street, Bloomington, Monday-Thursday from 9 am – 12 pm.  To receive a coat, you must bring a Photo ID, Social Security Card(s) for anyone receiving a coat and a current piece of mail.
