During this year Mennonite College of Nursing is Celebrating 100 Years of Nursing Excellence, 1919–2019. Come and learn how this small private religiously affiliated diploma school of nursing continued its excellence and has become a nationally recognized premier college of nursing, awarding Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees. Find out about the transition of the college into Illinois State University, which officially occurred on July 1, 1999, and how the college has thrived in its new home. The story of the founding, leadership, development, and success of Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing, then Mennonite College of Nursing, and now Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University will be told through anecdotes and experiences of these former administrators, who were actively involved with the transition of Mennonite College of Nursing (MCN) into Illinois State University. Presenters will include former and current leaders and faculty, as well as comments from Susan Blystone, the author of the third history book about MCN, The Keepers of the Flame, One Hundred Years of Stories, Mennonite College of Nursing 1919-2019.
