Last year the star of the Discovery Channel’s reality show “Dirty Jobs” was in Peoria to recognize Carl Cannon for selflessly giving his time to give back to the youth in the community. The episode is finally ready for fans to see and just debuted on Facebook yesterday!

Mike Rowe is best known for doing strange, odd, and usually messy , difficult jobs on his show “Dirty Jobs.” But, now he travels the country for a show called “Returning The Favor” that recognizes remarkable people who give back to their community.

Carl Cannon of Peoria is one of those amazing people.

Back in September Mike traveled to Peoria, Il to surprise Carl. Carl is a former Corrections officer who founded the ELITE youth outreach program for the Peoria Park District. He has spent his life in service to the youth in Peoria and dedicating his time to make a difference in their lives and keep them out of prison.

Mike and his crew surprised Carl with a check for $50,000 while he was surrounded by family, friends, and many from the Peoria area who showed up to support Carl and everything he has done for the kids.
