UPDATE 11/15/19 11:45 AM central time:
The video has been posted confirming the little “oops” by Thomas Rhett during his performance. I have posted it at the bottom of this page.

Thomas Rhett forgot the third verse of his song “Remember You Young” in his performance on the CMA Awards Show … did you notice it?

I was pretty sure it happened as I watched the show live Wednesday, November 13th. I spent the day Thursday waiting for the video of the performance to be posted by the CMAs to confirm it. However, the video never came.

This morning (11/15) the video still has not been posted on the CMA Awards website of their YouTube channel. Pretty much every other video has been posted, but not Thomas Rhett’s. Perhaps that is because of the minor flub.

When it was time for the third verse, “Hey babies crawling on the carpet – No, you won’t be that little for long – One day you’ll move away but you’re still gonna stay – This innocent after you’re gone” Thomas Rhett instead sang the second verse for a second time, “And hey darling sipping that red wine – All classy kicked back on the couch – You smile and I see you shootin’ tequila – Us shuttin’ them college bars down.”

I have to say that he handled forgetting the words like a pro. His passion and stage presence never wavered during the performance. In fact, it was such a great performance it had me questioning if I was correct in my assessment of the possible mistake. Some others did notice it as well though making me feel like it did really happen.

I will pass this thought along to Thomas Rhett. If you asked the CMAs to not post the video because of the little brain fart, have them go ahead and share it.

First, it shows that you are simply human.

Second, it could become one of the most viewed videos from the 53rd CMA Awards show. No harm in that.
