AAA Says Brace For A Busy Thanksgiving Travel Season

AAA is saying this year’s Thanksgiving travel season could be the second-highest volume ever.

55 million people are expected to go somewhere by plane, train, car or bus.

The record number of Thanksgiving travelers was set in 2005. That year, over 58 million people hit the road for the holiday.

AAA’s Thanksgiving travel window is from November 26th until December 1st. An estimated 49 million people will drive somewhere and 4.4 million will fly to their destination. AAA expects the worst travel day will be on the 26th, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving day.

Thanksgiving Air Travel Expected To Set A Record

It seems like we hear it every year: It will busy if you travel by plane this Thanksgiving.

TSA has announced that we should expect Thanksgiving air travel to set a new record this year.

Around 26.8 million passengers will go through TSA screenings during the Thanksgiving travel season between November 22nd and December 2nd. That’s four percent more than last year.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving might be the busiest day ever for the US airline industry. If you are flying on that day, congratulations on being a part of history.
