Changing the clocks twice a year is one step closer to being a thing of the past in Illinois.

Tuesday (11/12) the Illinois Senate approved legislation that seeks to make Daylight Saving Time permanent in the state. The bill needs to be approved by the House before it gets sent to the governor’s office for final approval.

If it becomes law, Illinois will join most of the country changing clocks just one final time. Illinois residents would set clocks forward one hour (“Spring Forward”) on the second Sunday of 2020. Then, the clocks in the state would be left that way moving forward making Daylight Saving Time the permanent time in Illinois.

Currently, Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that DON’T participate in the twice-yearly time change.

Do you want the bill to become law in Illinois?
