Craig Morgan stopped by “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to perform his heartbreaking song about losing his son three years ago, but got a surprise of his own when his his good friend Blake Shelton also showed up.

Three years ago, Craig’s son Jerry was found dead after a boating accident. Jerry was only 19 at the time. Craig wrote this incredible song “The Father, My Son and The Holy Ghost” which captured the raw, and unimaginable pain Craig and his family went through at that time.

Earlier in the year, Blake started tweeting about Craig’s powerful song and even said he would give up his spot on the Billboard charts to get Morgan’s song noticed. Well, it worked! Blake tweeted and before you knew it, tons of country stars and celebrities were tweeting about it!

While on the “Kelly Clarkson Show” Craig got a big surprise when his buddy Blake showed up to support his friend.

Craig then performed the tribute to his late son in front of Blake, Kelly, and fellow guest Eva Mendes. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place as he sang the painful song.

Craig just filmed the music video for “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost” at his family’s The Gallery At Morgan Farms in downtown Dickson, Tennessee. You can watch the world premiere this weekend during CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown at 8am CT on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.
