Runaway June spent the summer on Carrie Underwood‘s “Cry Pretty 360 Tour.” The final night of the tour had quite the mishap for the trio.

Jennifer Wayne, Naomi Cooke and Hannah Mulholland form the all-girl country trio. They were recently featured on American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks (heard Saturdays and Sundays on B104). It was during that program they shared the story of the equipment malfunction on the last night of the tour.

“We rise from one of the risers, um, for the medley with Carrie during her set, and so we’re out there, like getting ready to sing,” Jennifer shares.

Hannah states they have done this every night of the tour with not even a small glitch. Jennifer then shares that something went wrong this particular night.

“All of a sudden, we’re like, ‘Oh, it’s not moving up.’ And, Carrie … I could just like see her looking at me like ‘Uh oh,’ and she goes, ‘Oh no!’,” Jennifer shares with a laugh, “we just ran over across underneath to Maddie & Tae‘s riser, and we all came up together. It was pretty funny.”

Hannah chimes in, “It was the last show of the leg, and it was like … Of course, it would happen there.”

Naomi adds laughing, “We looked like a bunch of whack-a-moles down there. You could just see the tops of our heads … And, we’re like ‘Ah!’

You can see how the collaborative performance happened every night except the final night of the leg of the tour at the bottom of the page.

Runaway June’s current single “Buy My Own Drinks” is climbing the charts in the top 10 this week. The song is from their debut album Blue Roses available everywhere now.
