Great news for Randy Travis! The singer and his original band are going on tour!!!

Randy and his wife Mary announced they’ll join the “Music of Randy Travis Tour” this fall, with James Dupré filling in for the icon, which will run Oct. 16th through Nov. 2. Dupré will be accompanied by the original members of Travis’ road band, and Randy and Mary will do a meet-and-greet at each venue.

As many know, Randy suffered from a heart infection in 2013, which led to a debilitating stroke that made singing, and even speaking, impossible. In the years since he’s rehabilitated to the point where he can walk short distances on his own, say a few select words and sing a few songs like “Amazing Grace.” Hearing his own music was very difficult for several years, but slowly he longed to hear his voice again.

That moment always gives me goosebumps!

Although Travis isn’t expected much on stage, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a few appearances, and it’s still a once in a lifetime thing to witness.
