How Many of Blake Shelton’s Artists Made the Finals on ‘The Voice’? [VIDEOS]

Blake Shelton had five of the eight artists in the Semi-Finals on season 16 of The Voice. When you do the math that ensured Blake would be part of finale this season with at least one Team Blake artist in the Top 4.

Last night (5/14) was the “Top 8 Live Results Show” for season 16 of the reality singing competition TV show. Sticking with the way they have done things since the beginning, the top three artists in overnight voting automatically advanced to next week. The fourth artist to advance was determined using the “Twitter Instant Save.”

The show opened with Blake Shelton performing his latest single “God’s Country” which you can watch below.

The first artist revealed to automatically advance was Maelyn Jarmon of Team Legend. Next it was Team Blake’s Dexter Roberts advancing followed by Gyth Rigdon also from Team Blake.

Next they revealed the three artists that would perform live for the Twitter Instant Save” and the last available spot in the Top 4. Those artists were Shawn Sounds (Team Legend), Rod Stokes (Team Kelly) and Andrew Sevener (Team Blake). That meant Team Blake’s Kim Cherry and Carter Lloyd Horne were eliminated from the competition. The three artists eligible for the Twitter Instant Save then performed.

Following the performances the Twitter Instant Save window was opened and America tweeted their votes. The results were then reveled.

Andrew Sevener winning the Twitter Instant Save gives Blake three artists in the Top 4 for the Finals next week. The newest coach John Legend has the fourth artist in the season finale. Kelly Clarkson is no longer eligible to defend here back-to-back wins as a coach in seasons 14 and 15. She and Adam Levine will be spectators and fans just like the rest of us next week.

The Top 4 will perform live Monday night, May 20th starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) in the two-night season finale of The Voice Season 16 on NBC.
