Thomas Rhett now was a twelve-pack of #1 songs as “Sixteen” tops the chart for this week. The advance Billboard Country Aircheck singles chart is out and “Sixteen” has moved into the number one spot.

The song is Thomas Rhett’s sixth consecutive chart topper and marks 12 #1 singles out of his last 13. “Sixteen” is also the fifth number one single out of five released from Thomas Rhett’s current #1 Platinum album Live Changes.

Thomas Rhett explains the nostalgic song that he wrote and recorded is a reminder to live in the moment no matter where you are in life.

“It just takes me back to being 15 and dying to be 16. In your head you’re just going, ‘God, once I’m 16, the world will just be right.’ And then you get your truck and you drive around and you’re like, ‘Alright, cool, now I really wish I could buy a lottery ticket legally, but I can’t.’ And so then you’re like ‘I can’t wait to be 18. The world will be better.’ And then it goes to 21 and I think every kid goes through that phase of like, always wanted to be a different age so that you can do certain things. And then you turn 21 and all you want to do is be 16 again.”

Congratulations to Thomas Rhett on his 12th number one single “Sixteen.”
