Last week was the “double doink” field goal heard round Chicago Bears nation. The team’s kicker Cody Parkey was on the Today Show to discuss the miss today.

The missed field goal ended the Chicago Bears season with a loss in the NFC Wild Card round last weekend (1/6) against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The missed field goal started a backlash of fans upset that their team would not be advancing in the playoffs.

Cody talked about the miss and handled it with amazing class and poise.

I am a Bears fan myself and I just to remind my fellow fans of a couple of things if you are down on Cody. First, the kick was tipped. Second, he scored more than half of the 15 points the Bears had in the game making three field goals earlier in the game. It stinks that the one field goal he missed out of four attempts was at the end of the game. If the team could have scored just one more touchdown instead of having to settle for a field goal the outcome might have been different.
