Blake Shelton to Host Elvis Tribute TV Special

Country music singer-songwriter and TV star Blake Shelton has been tapped to host a TV special to pay tribute to the “King of Rock ‘N’ Roll” Elvis Presley.

Blake will be hosting the “Elvis All-Star Tribute” special February 17, 2019 on NBC. The network is also the home of The Voice. Blake is one of two star coaches that have appeared on every season of that show that is now in its 15th season.

The tribute special is set to pay homage to Elvis’ comeback special that air on NBC December 3, 1968. That now legendary TV show special was the first time Elvis had performed on TV in seven years. The show was the highest rated show that season for NBC. It also put Elvis back on the map with his career.

The 2019 special will feature an all-star line-up of musical performances paying tribute to Elvis. Those performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Additionally, the show will “showcase rare Elvis footage, outtakes and interviews from those involved in the special, including Director Steve Binder” according to NBC.

The  “Elvis All-Star Tribute” hosted by Blake Shelton will air Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 8 PM central time (9 PM eastern time) on NBC.
