Caeland Garner took the stage to perform his Blind Audition version of King Harvest’s “Dancing in the Moonlight.” Joining the 31-year-old singer backstage for support were not only some of his family members, but also his friend and The Voice Season 13 Team Blake finalist Red Marlow. The performance was something that both Blake and Jennifer Hudson liked so they both pressed their buttons. Because of the connection through his friend Red, it seemed like Blake was clearly the front runner for Caeland to choose.
Caeland did in fact make the same choice that his friend Red made one year ago choosing Blake Shelton as his coach and joining Team Blake.
Madison Cain comes from a musical family. Her father is Jonathan Cain of the legendary rock group Journey. Madison wanted to audition for The Voice to make it on her own in the industry without using her family name to get her break. She sang Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.” Unfortunately the performance was missing something to get a coach to press a button. Kelly Clarkson explained that the performance was “almost too perfect sounding” for her and was missing some of the raw emotion that would have gotten her to press her button.
Luckily for the second- generation singer Kelsea Ballerini saw enough to make Madison the final artist for the online feature the “Comeback Stage” with a second chance at getting to the live shows this season.
All four teams ended the night with 11 members each. That means next week Blake, Adam, Kelly and Jennifer will each need just a single artist each to complete their respective teams. We will see which coach fills their team first starting at 7:00 PM central time (8:00 PM eastern time) on season 15 of The Voice Monday, October 15th.
