Blake Shelton filled Team Blake on season 10 of The Voice and moved into the Battle Round with Gwen Stefani last night (3/14).

Jared Harder chose a tough sell in my opinion for his song in the Blind Auditions. As a guy he sang Kacey Musgraves’ song “Merry Go Round.” However, I was pleasantly surprised at his ability to pull it off. Jared’s rendition got Blake to hit his button and became the first coach to fill his team for season 10 of The Voice.

Once all the teams were full, the show launched right into the Battle Rounds. Joining Team Blake as a mentor this season is his girlfriend and fellow coach on the show Gwen Stefani.

Blake’s first battle was between Brittney Lawrence and Paxton Ingram. The two performed the pop song “I Know What You Did Last Summer” by Shawn Mendes. They both did a good job, but in the end Blake chose to keep Paxton on Team Blake moving forward.

Blake also had the chance to make his first Steal in the Battle Round. Adam paired Katie Basden and Ryan Quinn for a Team Adam battle. When it was all said and done, Adam chose to keep Ryan on his team. That left Katie available to steal and Christina hit her button. However, before she could welcome Katie to her team Blake also pushed his button to steal (you don’t see that part in the video below). Both coaches made their pitches to join their team and Katie decided to become a part of Team Blake.

The Battle Round on season 10 of The Voice continues tonight starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern) on NBC TV.
